Carmen Lence, the story so far…

Like many other kids that have grown up in a family that owns a business, Carmen started to work for the family company at a very early age. She had time to go through the experience of working for the family company without outside experience, working for companies not related with her family, and working for the family company with outside experience. During her career, she has also had the opportunity to work and live in several countries where she has always connected and collaborated with Family Business organizations.

She’s also learnt a great deal about other Family Business successes, disasters and Next Generation struggles during her time as President of the Next Generation Family Business Association of Galicia (in Spain). And she continues to learn as a member of the Family Business Network International and Family Firm Institute.

Carmen’s work experience in coaching, management and Family Business, is complemented by her education. On top of her MBA, she has taken the Leading the Family Business course specializing in family business management at IMD in Switzerland, and is a Certified Family Business Advisor by FFI in the US. She is also a certified MBTI practitioner, Certified 360 degree The Leadership Circle assessment Practitioner, an executive coach trained by CTI, and an Organization & Relationship Systems coach trained by CRR in the US.

She has created NextGen Family Business out of her experience, interest and passion to help Next Generation Family Business members that, like her, want to take ownership of their lives, to show initiative, and to become successful Family Business leaders and successful human beings.

On a personal note, she is a mother of two young children. She likes running (not only after her kids), inviting friends over, going out for dinner, for a walk, to museums… going out in general. She is an ESFP personality type, great type for coaching, as they are sympathetic, interested in people and able to sense what is happening with other people and respond quickly to their needs.

She loves life in general and lives it fearlessly!
